So much to talk about! So much to talk about!
First and foremost, MISS HAVANA. I want to thank everyone who came out on the chilly January night and supported and cheered on the contestants. Sixteen of the 19 showed! WOW is all I have to say. It makes an old comedy queen excited about the future of drag in Columbus! Congratulations go out to Jayda Faye VonTastykakes, Barbie Roberts, and winner Keri Kerning! I had such a great time that night and it really is due to the classy ladies that competed. I guarentee you will be hearing from these 3 queens and many more who competed that night&Judy Garlandd, Kay Wye, Shauna Robix, Puddin Pie, Aurora Borealis, Kiley Dash, and more.
Now, it turns out Superdragqueen.com has been nominated for best queer website in Columbus (blog, etc.). It could be pretty fab to win the award. That would actually be really cool & As it turns out I have been nominated for quite a few awards, including 'Most Efficient Drag Show', 'Favorite Local Queer www (Website, blog, or podcast)', 'Favorite Professional Queer', 'Biggest Media Whore', and 'Favorite Tranny.' What exactly does 'Most Efficient Drag Show' mean anyway. :
I want to also take a moment out to thank The Columbus AIDS Task Force for giving me their 2009 Award of Recognition. I was absolutely humbled when Shaun gave me the award. I don't do what I do for awards or recognition. My goal is to entertain and inspire and in the process make a difference. If I can do that, then I am doing my job correctly, and I hope to keep doing this job for a good while. But THANK YOU CATF, it really has made my week. I cannot stop smiling.
